Мрачный, грустный, очень хороший, [предположительно] односторонний Сэм/Кас.
“And now, ladies and gentlemen,” Clegg announces, grinning beneath his pig’s mask, “let’s begin the auction… for Sam Winchester’s heart!”
His heart, his goddamn heart. Pumping its impure blood, stopped and restarted several times over. Damaged goods, tainted meat. Hard to believe there are people out there willing to pay for his dirty heart.
Well. Not people. (In general, he’s a lot more charitable when it comes to monsters as a group. Wants to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. But that’s days when he’s not strapped to an operating table and having his heart auctioned off.)
“Let’s start the bidding at $10,000. 10K for Sam Winchester’s heart,” Clegg says. “Do I have 15?”
Fifteen-thousand, Sam’s thinking with that same wild note of hysteria. Fifteen-thousand for his heart, when he can’t even give it away. He hears the price rise to $50,000, then $60,000. And then it jumps to $100,000.
He could sell his heart for enough money to send Jack to college. What a thought. Not useful, not with Jack trapped in another universe. Just a way to conceptualize more money than he’s ever seen in his life.
Someone bids $500,000. Sam’s only frame of reference is Jared-whatever, yet another alternate universe. An expensive mansion full of photos of his own face.
No one’s challenging $500,000. The bid closes; his heart’s been sold. That snarky, nagging voice is back in his head, but this time it’s definitely all Sam. They have no clue your heart’s already spoken for
