This whole experiment was humiliating. He felt it now. He had thought he could handle hearing from the one man he wanted exactly why no one wanted him. But the moment Castiel began pointing out his flaws, Sam had lashed out defensively. Like a child.


Law school should have beaten into him the ability to handle criticism. Life as a little brother should have done it. Life as his father’s son should have. Sam should be able to stand still and take honesty with grace better than most. And yet he had fallen apart the moment Castiel had shown him his warts, and the worst part was that he had managed to hurt Castiel.


Less than an hour into being Sam’s boyfriend, Castiel already wanted to dump him, and Sam couldn’t blame him a bit.
