Очень люблю, когда беглые авторские характеристики неожиданно точно попадают в мое представление о нем. В самом проходном тексте иногда попадаются такие жемчужины:

Sam smiled at him, reluctantly, almost shyly. But Sam wasn’t shy. As much as Dean liked to poke fun at him, liked to go through the ‘antisocial virgin’ routine, Sam had always been the more naturally outgoing of the two of them. The more genuinely confident one.

Или вот, из другого фика:

“Winchester! What the hell! You wont join a single goddamn team and you wont put in the sweat for this class! You think you’re better than anyone else don’t you!”


This whole thing was so ridiculous that Sam couldn’t even bother to laugh, “Yeah coach, the kid who lives out of a car and wears his brothers hand me down thinks he’s better than all this. Right.”

Черт, автор, откуда ты знаешь?!  Такой он и был в свои пятнадцать: подчеркнуто независимый, очень "себе на уме" - обычно этого хватает, чтобы тебя считали высокомерным засранцем.
Потом он научится лучше это скрывать)
